The resultant decision to demolish their half of the duplex and reattach a totally new house in its place has resulted in a dramatic transformation. Not only has the house itself been invigorated but an otherwise undistinguished and blandly uniform row of semi-detached houses forming the immediate streetscape has benefited also.
The decision to reattach a two-storey element and subsequently step down the scale of the dwelling has proved successful. The decision to run parallel north facing single storey elements back into a restricted block has produced a house with intimate and well related outdoor spaces
